Roof measurement by drone

What you need it for

• Price quotes for re-covering, refurbishment or cleaning
• Plan solar systems and check the usable layout
• Evidence insurance damage after storm or hail
• Update records when old plans no longer match reality

How it works

1. We settle address, goal and date. I check in advance whether anything needs a permit at your location.
2. On site I fly the building in fixed lanes with heavily overlapping images. For an ordinary detached house I am usually there for a good half hour.
3. Where it has to be more precise, I also place and survey markers on the ground.
4. From the imagery I compute a true-to-scale model and derive the measurement from it.

What you receive

• Measurement with all partial areas, pitches, ridge and eaves lengths
• The details quotes tend to miss: dormers, chimneys, roof windows, valleys
• Delivered as a PDF to print, or as DXF or DWG for CAD
• All images at full resolution, which also show the condition of the covering

Good to know

• You need not prepare anything and need not be at home, as long as the property is accessible.
• In rain, storms or poor visibility we move the date at no cost.
• With RTK and additional ground points I work within a few centimetres. What you need the data for decides how much effort I put in.
